Basic Beginner Ballet and Tap Workshops
If you have always wanted to take Ballet or Tap these workshops are for you! Our workshops help new dancers progress and build on what they have learned from week to week. Our Beginner Workshops are split into 12-14 week sessions. It is ideal to participate in the workshops back to back to improve your skills and progress to our “Advanced Beginner” level drop-in classes. Please note each session builds upon material taught in previous sessions. Sessions will begin in September and run through May/June.
What are drop-in classes, and which drop-in classes are appropriate for beginners?
NCD is modeled after Broadway Dance Center in New York City, and offers “drop-in”, or “open” dance (and fitness) classes. A drop-in or open class is a class you may show up and take when your schedule allows, there is no need to preregister or commit to multiple weeks. Classes labeled “All Levels” are appropriate for any experience level to attend. We currently offer “All Levels” Hip Hop (Monday 8:30pm) and “All Levels” Burlesque (Tuesday 8:30pm). You have the option to sign up online before coming in, or simply show up to the studio 10-15min prior to class to sign-up and pay. While some dance or fitness class experience is helpful for our All Levels classes, it is not necessary. We recommend coming with an open mind, and don’t be afraid to ask your instructor questions, we’re here to help! Attending class consistently will help you pick up on material more quickly and build your confidence. You may wear whatever you are comfortable moving and grooving in. For Hip Hop we ask that you bring a clean pair of sneakers to change into for class (no outside shoes are allowed on the dance studio floor), and you may go barefoot or wear socks for Burlesque.
All of our Fitness classes are “All Levels” and appropriate for adults of all ability levels to attend. Our instructors will offer different options to satisfy all ability and fitness levels.
